Postales de Nicaragua 7: Boxes

Ok, so now I’m just being over-indulgent.

Years ago my friend Jilly and I went to Dublin for a weekend – we stayed a week! During our stay we hung out with friends of her Bohemian friend Zoe. They were artists and actors. That led us to a play called Boxes. Myself and Jilly never understood what it was we’d witnessed. Her brother, Adrian,  fell asleep and snored very loudly throughout the performance. Afterwards, Adrian congratulated the writer/director of the play and provided a marvellous analysis of the work which seemed to leave the playwright rather chuffed.

My own artistic work entitled ‘Boxes’ (laugh with me) is quite literally about how I turned eight supermarket soap boxes into gift boxes for the Lyndaloo Escuelita of 2012.

About lyndacuba

"Who am I? Why am I here? You're asking, I'm asking. Tired of all the moaning around me, tired of waiting for something to happen, I decided that I couldn't just let life pass me by. It occurred to me that if I could help a single person, that act could change the outcome of an entire community for the better. I want to matter. I want to make a difference. I've chosen Nicaragua." That was 2011 - this is 2017.
